On Saturday 15 May there was a very low tide and 40 people hiked across the intertidal flats to Tree Island, off the northwest end of Denman.

Wildflowers were everywhere. The dark blue Larkspur
Delphinium Mensiesii and the little pink puffs of Sea Blush
Plectritis congesta predominate.

In the thick of it!

The Chocolate lilies
Fritillaria lanceolata were almost over but there were still a few late specimens to photograph.
We all enjoyed the sunshine and good company.
